À table! – Chaumont-sur-Loire

The theme for the submission of this edition of the Garden Festival was ‘extraordinary plants’, which we have represented with a design showing that in fact all plants are ‘extraordinary’. The visitor is seated at a long table illuminated with Chinese lanterns. On the table, a wealth of food is growing and the Chinese lanterns – when seen from nearby - prove to be carnivorous plants. We hereby show that human beings eat plants, but some plants themselves eat meat. Both in fact ‘extraordinary’.

Our design was selected and was realized by Jeroen Marseille in March 2015 with a group of friends, family and colleagues. The Festival was visited from 23 April until 1 November 2016 by some 500.000 visitors.
