Our design for De Heuvel in Gilze includes an integrated plan for the public space and the school environment of De Wildschut, incorporating essential elements to enhance livability.

De Heuvel, with its rich history as a livestock market, animal enclosure, and village park, had become a paved square in the heart of the village. Nothing of its original function was visible anymore. Our goal was to breathe new life into this historic square and make it a central place once again for the residents of Gilze. We restored the square to a green space, where people can relax, gather, and celebrate traditions like Carnival.

On the south side of the new OBS De Wildschut building, we designed the new schoolyard, which connects to 16 new homes. This playground seamlessly links to the parking spaces and the residential area, and it is connected to the historic Nonnenpad.
