Since April 2021, Marseille Buiten has been working on Campus de Terp, a large development south of Wieringerwerf. A new swimming pool and school building have been added to the area, making it a daily hub for various user groups. Our vision for this space emphasizes a campus structure with a central gathering square, where the school is situated. The layout encourages students to actively use both the schoolyard and the sports campus, creating a balance between education and the experience of nature.
The playgrounds on the ground floor are seamlessly connected to the outdoor spaces for toddlers and the daycare center. Each group room on the ground floor has direct access to the outdoor environment, while the rooms on the upper floor are connected to their outdoor space via the rooftop terrace and tiered seating steps. Both the outdoor and indoor areas are designed around a continuous learning pathway. We’ve integrated spaces that encourage exploration and relaxation. With this project, we aim to create an inspiring and educational environment where the green outdoor spaces merge seamlessly with the design of the School.
