After establishing the urban planning guidelines in 2021 for the new Multi-Functional Facility (MFA) at Sportpark Elsenburg, we began developing the landscape plan in 2023, working closely with the users.
In the urban planning guidelines, we proposed replacing the existing clubhouse with two new buildings serving as multi-functional facilities for the hockey and cycling clubs. The buildings will also house a physiotherapy practice and an after-school care centre (BSO).
Car traffic will access the parking area directly from the Lange Kleiweg, while bicycle traffic will enter via a central axis with designated bike parking. From this point, the design shifts from a functional, line-based layout to a more quality-of-stay-focused, open-plan layout. These areas will feature a café terrace, play areas, a fitness course, storage spaces, and greenery.
The landscape flows up to the hockey field side of the building, extending into the rooftop terrace for the after-school care center.
