Villa Johanna is a De Stijl-villa (1930), a listed building, designed by Willem Maas. At the backside of the premises, a spacious extension is realized. This necessitated a refurbishment of the garden.
In our design we translated the clear, straight lines from De Stijl into a simple grid of lines and surfaces. This created a transparant structure which facilitates easy access to all the plant areas and offers space to a lawn, an orchard, a large pergola, a terrace and a playing field.
The paths are detailed by using wellheads filled in with bricks.
